NAIL ART TUTORIAL | 4TH OF JULY FLAG

Get ready for 4th of July with awesome flag nail art! These nails will impress everyone who sees them, and they are super easy to create if you follow the tutorial below.

Supplies
  • Nail clippers and file
  • Top coat and base coat
  • Red and Navy Polish
  • Tape
  • White acrylic paint (not in image)
  • Polish remover, cotton ball, and Q-Tip for cleaning up around your nails
  • Dotting tool
  • Small brush

1. Trim and file nails to desired length. Paint nails with a base coat and let dry. I'm usually too lazy to do a base coat, but I always do it with red polish so my nails don't get stained.
2. Paint nails red and let dry.
3. Place a piece of tape on the lower half of your nail to give you a clean paint line.

4. Paint the upper half of your nail navy blue. Remove the tape and let dry.
5. Using a small brush, paint white stripes on the red half of your nail. I like to use acrylic paint for small details because it's easier to work with, but nail polish would be fine too. ;)
6. Use a toothpick or dotting tool to paint white polka dots on the navy half of your nail and let dry.
7. Apply a top coat and let dry. Clean up the edges of your nails with a q-tip or cotton ball.

If you recreate these nails, post a pic on Instagram with the tag #diyintheforest so I can see them! How are you going to celebrate the 4th of July?
